Absolutely loved my experience here! Great selection of freshly baked goods. Cardamom bun was so soft and delicious, as well as a perfect cup of cortado. Extremely friendly staff. Limited space, but i did not mind standing by their coffee bar. Will definitely come back.

We visited this place after watching some best bakery videos in NYC and this place was one among those other bakeries. We visited around 1.00 in the noon on a Sunday and yet was super busy. First thing when I entered I was very much disappointed as I was hoping to dine in at leisure and enjoy the delicacies, which unfortunately did not happen, as this place was so small that it could accommodate 10 people at the most. The bakery smelled amazing though majorly dominated by cardamom smell. We got their famous Cardamom bun, along with a chocolate croissant and a cafe latte.
I was taken by surprise when I had a bite of chocolate croissant,OMG hands down one of the best I have ever had in USA. It was perfectly flaky and crisp on the outside, with buttery layers that melted in my mouth. The rich, chocolate filling had just the right balance of sweetness , complementing the lightness of the pastry. Every bite of it was so joyful and satisfying. Wish I had more.
I was expecting the cardamom bun to be the best, however it felt like it was not completely baked which also could have been that we got it fresh out of the oven which probably needed some cooling time. The flavors were subtle and did enjoy the cardamom
flavor. This delicacy reminded me of my home made dessert from back in India. It would have been a 5 on 5 if the bun was completely baked.
The Cafe Latte was smooth with a creamy texture. The espresso was not too strong or not too weak, it was well balanced.
A point to keep in mind is that parking is difficult to find and the place had no restrooms , if you are visiting this place after a long ride.
I googled ‘best bakeries in NYC’ and found this one in the top 10. I visited around 5 PM on a weekday, expecting the fresh items to be sold out, but I was surprised—the bakery was still full of freshly baked goods!
I tried their famous cardamom bun and a pain au chocolat croissant. Both were delicious and perfectly baked. I planned to have just a few bites of the chocolate croissant, but it was so good, I couldn’t stop! The cardamom bun was also delightful—not too sweet, with a crispy and a soft inside. I’ll definitely be back to have it again.
The chocolate croissant was excellent too. The sweetness level was perfect, and the texture had just the right amount of crunch.
I didn’t try the coffee but looks so professional and high quality as well!
The staff were very very nice and friendly!!!

I recently visited Lacabra Coffee in NYC, and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! I went in the afternoon, and as expected, the coffee shop was packed, so be prepared for a busy vibe, especially considering the indoor seating space is quite small. It's a cozy spot, but don’t rely on staying there for long if you’re hoping to relax with your coffee and sweets, as the limited seating fills up quickly.
One of the main reasons I visited was to try their famous cardamom bun, but unfortunately, they were out of it when I arrived. It was a bit of a disappointment, but it’s a testament to how popular their baked goods are. That being said, I wasn’t left wanting for long, as I opted to try their canele and chocolate croissant instead, and I was very pleased.
The canele was absolutely divine! The exterior was perfectly caramelized and slightly crispy, while the inside was soft, custardy, and rich, with a wonderful vanilla and rum flavor that lingered just enough without being overpowering. The contrast between the firm crust and the tender inside made each bite a delicious treat.
The chocolate croissant was equally impressive. The layers of flaky pastry were light, buttery, and crisp, with each layer pulling apart effortlessly. The filling inside was indulgently rich and smooth, with just the right amount of chocolate—sweet but not overly so, balancing perfectly with the pastry’s buttery texture. It was easily one of the best chocolate croissants I’ve had in a while, with a satisfying crunch followed by a melt-in-your-mouth moment with the chocolate.
I can’t wait to come back to try the cardamom bun next time. Lacabra Coffee is definitely a hidden gem in NYC, offering incredible baked goods that are worth the wait. Highly recommend!

I recently visited this nordic bakery in Chelsea, and it was an absolute delight! I had the hojicha tea and a cardamom bun, and I can confidently say that life feels complete. The bun was simply divine — light, fluffy, and incredibly flavorful.
The interior of the bakery is minimalistic, which adds to its charm, though it’s worth noting that there’s no restroom, something to keep in mind if you’re traveling an hour on the subway.
The staff were all smiles and genuinely welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The coffee is top-notch, and the selection of teas is impressive.
Don’t forget to grab some bread to take home; it’s perfect for making avocado toast! I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to all my friends!
