We went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday! The staff was so helpful in offering us options to be seated together / separately since we were a larger party. We went on a weekend around prime dinner time so it took about 45 minutes to seat us together - although, note that we expected this wait. The restaurant has bar seating only and it was an intimate atmosphere. As a little side note, my friend who id’s as a plus sized person mildly complained that the seats were uncomfortable so keep that in mind! The hand rolls were stunning. My group & I got: 4 hand rolls, 6 hand rolls, and the Nozie set (along with some additional hand rolls a la carte) and they were all fantastic. The scallop handroll was so buttery and flavorful but my favorite was the NZ sea bream. The mild flavor combined with the seasoned rice just makes a wonderful mouthfeel. I’ve also tried monk fish (their special for the day) for the first time and I loved it! We loved the attentive staff, checking in just enough to see whether we needed refills or more ginger/wasabi. Our specific waitress conversed and chatted with us about her favorite types of hand rolls as well. The only downside was that my friends had a difficult time hearing the chef when he presented their hand rolls so it made it difficult to track what they were eating. Even though they asked for repetition, they were still unable to hear the type of hand roll they ate so it made their experience a bit of a guessing game. Other than that, we had a good experience :) a must-visit place!!

One of the best restaurants for sushi lovers in the city. When I lived in NY we craved this weekly. Best things on the menu in my opinion are the Toro and Scallop handrolls. I eat multiple of each when I go. Affordable, fast, and incredibly good. Better than any sushi I’ve ever had, and I travel quite a bit! This is a must have.

super fresh & affordable hand rolls!! a 5-roll set is already very fulfilling to me, and i highly recommend the toro, scallop and lobster. we visited at 3:30 pm on a sunday and fortunately didn’t have to wait, but the line can get long so be early!

Perfect lunch spot with the beeest quality hand rolls - wouldn't expect less from the same group as Sugar Fish. Wouldn't miss it!!

I’ve been a loyal KazuNori customer for years at the W 28th St location, so I was very excited that this location opened up closer to me! I love the entire concept of the restaurant, and the quality of the fish is always superb. The new space and staff were incredibly welcoming! However, I do think this location still has some kinks to work on. The rice when I went was kind of mushy/slimy? Not sure how to describe it, but it took me aback. Also, the rice to fish ratio was off - I looked through some of the other reviews photos, and my rolls had quite a bit more rice (see photos). I will most def be back, but hopefully the restaurant sees this review and can work on quality consistency between locations!
