Hiya we really enjoyed our time here this is the best burger you will get! My girlfriend and I are visiting new York for the first time and after doing some research of places to visit while here we came across Au Cheval. The staff are very friendly and the two hosts were super friendly and made us feel welcome immediately after walking through the doors. Our waitress was super friendly and explained the menu to us by giving some recommendations along the way, As a starter we got the chicken liver highly recommended! mains we got the double cheeseburger with bacon and egg also the shave rib sandwich as a side we got the silky whipped potatoes and the Mac and cheese. Definitely we over ordered but my favourite side was the Mac and cheese and my partner the mash so sorry I would recommend to get just one but it is hard to pick. Thank you everyone for having us tonight!

Excellent food and service. The host was able to accommodate our party size change and get us all seated. Fun variety of cocktails and of course the burger lived up to the high expectations. Perfectly cooked meat, and highly recommend adding an egg and or bacon. The Cesar salad was dressed perfectly with a generous amount of cheese to top. Overall incredible dining experience!

This is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. If you’re reading that last sentence and then saying but why 4 stars then? I’ll tell you why: it’s simply because of the price. The average person may not be able to afford this. One burger with a Diet Coke after tax and tip was almost $52. That’s not a typo. Other than the price though, I LOVED everything else about this place: obviously the food but also the host, our server, the music and the ambience. For $52, the burger could ATLEAST come with fries but sadly, an order of French fries is like an additional $14. Oh, also, do not bother getting a single patty burger. We were told a single patty burger was $6 cheaper than the double patty but when we got the bill, it was only $2 cheaper so if you do come here, you might as well just get the double and DEFINITELY add the egg and bacon. I just placed the top bun with the egg gently onto the burger and the yolk popped. The bread looks like it’ll be way too much bread but it’s not, it’s perfect and airy and fluffy and light. All of the flavors meld together so perfectly, you can literally taste everything separately in your mouth AND all at the same time. It’s insane. It did not need anything added to it except I DID take the onions and chives off. A soda is $6 but does come with free refills. Ps I LOVED the pickle too and if I ever go again, I’ll probably order an extra one.

Very enjoyable dinner in NYC. The cities most famous burger according to locals. We loved it. Great atmosphere. The whole place was ALIVE with interesting people. Food was super good quality for this style of cuisine, some of the best thick cut bacon ive ever had. Also the Desert portions were HUGE !

Very solid experience for my first time here. Definitely upscale. The food was pretty good and the drinks were amazing. Our server check on us consistently to make sure everything was going well, and that the food ordered matched our expectations. The bill wasn’t too high for an upscale restaurant, so i def plan on coming back soon. We got family style burgers, chicken with fries, steak and dessert which was very solid. I enjoyed my experience here, and plan to return in the near future.
