The atmosphere is great with an open concept with lots of windows, al freso and lots of plants and water feature. Then the culinary experience is next level. You can taste how fresh the corn is in the tortillas and empanada. The smoked flavors in the chicken were incredible and delicious wrapped into a tortilla or alone. They definitely have some great sauces too. Great to share. The location on Colorado is great but you may miss it - look for the corner black structure. Highly recommend.

Comedor came highly recommended by many, but I was very disappointed with my experience. From the difficulty of finding the location to the overpriced menu items that don't justify their cost considering the taste, it was not worth the hype. The only aspect that met my expectations was the ambiance. However, I don't want to pay an exorbitant amount for great ambiance when the food and service are just average. Just a heads up, the place is hard to find. The entrance is almost hidden behind a wall, and we had to circle around 2-3 times to locate it.

Just enjoyed an incredible meal at Comedor! Recently recognized in the Michelin Guide, this spot offers a chic yet cozy atmosphere. The bone marrow tacos and quesadillas with huitlacoche are must-tries. Chef Philip Speer's modern take on Mexican cuisine is a game changer. Highly recommend giving it a try! 💖🍽️

My wife and I recently spent a weekend in Austin and stumbled upon Comedor. The space is dark, sophisticated, and minimalist, evoking the ambiance of Michelin-starred spots in Barcelona (like Hermanos Torres) or Tokyo (such as Florilège). We chose to sit at the bar, where the attentive waitstaff took excellent care of us. The drinks were superb, and the food was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the okra, bone marrow tacos, and chicken tacos. While I can't recall the name of the dessert, it was the only part of the meal that fell short of the high standard set by the rest of the experience. Overall, this was one of the most memorable meals we've had in a long time. We will definitely return the next time we're in Austin, and we highly recommend Comedor to anyone visiting the city.

This place exceeded my expectations, and was overall a great experience. We went during happy hour and ordered primarily off happy hour menu, the portions were all very good and larger than expected. The vibe was on point too, the bartenders were so friendly and talkative. The reviews for this place are unfair, mainly the “hard to find”, just follow google maps? I don’t think the difficult to find should be indicative of the quality of the place, especially when it’s super vibey once you walk in. Also, margarita is best in Austin.
